After Hours:Highway Run

After Hours: Highway Run is a fast, relaxed arcade traffic racer. Thread your car between oncoming traffic, chain near-miss combos for bigger scores, grab coins, and spend them in your garage on new vehicles, upgrades and paint jobs. Every run is short, every crash is a lesson, and there is always one more car to unlock.

Features

6 gears, real manual feel - shift up and down yourself or just floor it. 61 fictional vehicles - from the starter hatch to pickups, vans and a slim motorcycle (small hitbox, big price tag). Upgrades - Engine, Armor (crash shields) and a Coin Magnet. Car customizer - 12 paint colors, neon underglow, decals, spoilers and wheel styles. Race, Drag Race and five Free Drive worlds - City, Harbor, Industrial, Coast and Highland, each with its own ambience. 15 original soundtrack tracks composed for the game, plus recorded engine, skid and impact sounds. Saves automatically - coins, cars, upgrades, paint and your best score are kept between sessions. Resizable window, runs on modest PCs, no install, no internet connection needed. Passing close to traffic without touching it builds a combo - bigger score and extra coins. Buy Armor early: each level is one free crash per race. Don't touch the throttle during the Drag Race countdown - a false start costs you time.

Install

Download the file. Run After Hours Highway Run.exe. Windows SmartScreen: because the game is from an independent developer and the exe is not code-signed, Windows may show "Windows protected your PC". Click More info → Run anyway.(Antivirus programs occasionally flag any new unsigned exe; you can check the source code on the project page.)

Save data

Your progress is stored in `%APPDATA%\AfterHoursHighwayRun`. Delete that folder to start fresh. If something goes wrong, a `crash.log` is written there - please attach it to a bug report.

System requirements

Windows 10 / 11 (64-bit), keyboard. No GPU requirements to speak of.
